Architecture – a spectacular construction in Wolfsburg

A building conceived as an adventure landscape and as a new central attraction for an unconventional city: the London-based star architect Zaha Hadid has designed a futuristic venue for the journey of discovery through phæno – a structure with craters, terraces, plateaus, and subterranean caverns. A building directly next to the station and the canal that links the Volkswagen works and the Autostadt with the city of Wolfsburg. A construction that enhances the awareness of existing lines of sight and spatial relationships yet also spawns new perspectives. It stands in the city's tradition of creating architectural highlights. The building site alone has been a popular destination for architecture enthusiasts and construction specialists from throughout the world. Models of phæno have already been presented in Venice (Architecture Biennale 2004) and in exhibitions in Vienna, Rome, London, Berlin and New York.

Ein Bauwerk, das direkt neben Bahnhof und Kanal das Volkswagenwerk und die Autostadt auf der einen, die Stadt Wolfsburg auf der anderen Seite verbindet. Ein Bauwerk, das vorhandene Blickbezüge bewusst macht und neue Perspektiven schafft. Es steht in der Tradition der Stadt, architektonische Highlights zu setzen. Schon die Baustelle ist Reiseziel für Architekturinteressierte und Baufachleute aus aller Welt. phæno Modelle waren bereits in Venedig (Architektur-Biennale 2004) und bei Ausstellungen in Wien, Rom, London, Berlin und New York zu sehen.
